- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup BBQ sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 taco-sized tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- ½ cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
- sliced jalapeños Optional for serving
- sour cream Optional for serving
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes).
Drain excess fat if necessary, then stir in the honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the sauce is well combined and heated through.
While the beef is cooking, warm the tortillas in a tortilla warmer or wrapped in a kitchen towel in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
Assemble the tacos by placing a portion of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheese.
Add any optional toppings if desired and serve immediately while warm.
For a spicier kick, include sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.
Feel free to customize the toppings according to your preference—avocado, corn, or salsa would also be great additions.
Leftover beef can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before assembling the tacos.
